Found this very difficult to understand - never knew who was ‘speaking’. Only reason I read it thru was find out what it was all about.

Was this written by a young student? For fellow students? Not at all exciting. Enjoyed his first four books but I feel the quality goes down with each succeeding book. I plan to take him off my “authors to read” list.

Another story without Saga being involved which for me makes the story far less interesting.

Suspenseful first 3/4, then too James Bondish to be believable.

Did not enjoy this, found it depressing rather than a book to read to ‘escape’ our everyday bombardment relating to covid. Not much involvement with the village’s characters nor the usual mouth-watering details of meals which I can easily visualize.

Certainly not my favourite from Ragnar. I did not find it suspenseful, perhaps because I don’t believe in ghosts. I am not giving anything away here. The main reason I read him is that the stories take place in Iceland, a country I hope to get back to soon for a third visit.Certainly not my favourite from Ragnar. Hard to believe Nesbo wrote this. Not a thriller, not exciting. I didn’t give it any rating star.

Very interesting plot. I was imagining several different possible scenarios as story developed. I thought it very good until the last few chapters when the author chose to tidy up all the loose ends. To me, the last pages were not necessary.

Good plot. I did suspect a couple of red herrings that were thrown in. A somewhat ‘Hollywood’ ending. I’ve been in Paris a few times so enjoyed reading about the familiar places, including the Rodin garden. Looking forward to be back Quebec’s eastern townships.Good plot. I’ve read all the books In the series, this one was not great.. too many pages with unnecessary details, I learned to skip pages where nothing actually happens. Saga character only mentioned early on and not again. I think this was a mistake.

It was good but...... suspenseful for 3/4 of the way. I didn’t find the last part great - it was pretty calm compared to the earlier section.

I am an Adler olsen fan but this book was a disappointment. Not even amusing like his department Q Series usually are. Nor is it thrilling or exciting or mysterious.

I'm going against the general consensus here - I didn't enjoy this one at all. I found the first quarter of the book was one long weather report. There are other reasons but i don't want to give away anything. What i enjoyed most was the Acknowledgments section at the end.
