Nooooo... I wanted to like this so bad, but I just didn't get it at all! I didn't understand the meaning behind anything. Im actually so upset! I liked the cinematography and editing, but I didn't get how it all fit in with the story.…

One of the great American films- directed by Martin Scorsese and starring Robert DeNiro as the boxer Jake LeMotta ( yes this is the film where DeNiro gained over 50 pounds to play the role of the dissipated LeMotta ). The film is quite…

Robert De Niro is the biggest hack in Hollywood and he proves it here. I hate this movie. Hate it. Hate it. HATE IT.!!! That half-star is for Joe Pesci.

Brutal and compelling. Such a visceral film that worked beautifully in black and white. De Niro's performance is, as always, phenomenal. And the supporting actors earned their Oscar nominations. Highly recommend for any fan of Scorsese.

DeNiro, Scorsese, biography. Worthwhile for that. But helps if like boxing.

Martin Scorsese’s 1980 boxing drama, considered by many to be his finest work, concludes with a quotation from the Bible (the one that ends, “I was blind and now I can see.”). It was intended to honor a film professor Scorsese respected…

Overall not a film to watch for pleasure.

Your tour de force of hard-to-watch B & W realism. De Niro runs from sympathetic to very scary, at the time a considerable actor. The scene where Pesci tears Vincent and friends apart to die for. Uncanny recreation of times past.

Robert De Niro teams with director Martin Scorsese in this "extraordinarily compelling" (Leonard Maltin) film that introduced unflinching realism to stunned audiences in 1980. An "exceedingly violent as well as poetic" fight picture that…

Although the performances of Robert De Nilo and Joe Pesci appear great, this docudrama shows how the once-boxing-champion turns into a miserable, pathetic loser, whom I really detest.

Horrible movie about a raging psychotic.

I'm almost drawn to watch this again simply to hear the musical score of Mascagni operas, a spine tingly experience. RD at his prime, just a bit too 'rough' in this life story.

I love DeNiro but I didnt like or appreciate how his character was verbally abusive and violent towards his wives. It made his second wife look so weak when she didnt stand up for herself or say much. She just went with it all. Women…

My review is not a popular opinion! Raging Bull is frequently rated as one of the most important or best movies of the last century. I think that is often the case because it so clearly gives you the protagonist and antagonist in the very…

I thought Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci were great in this movie, but I didn't enjoy the story very much at all.

One of America's finest films!!! Raging Bull is a masterpiece of film making by director Martin Scorsese. The fight scenes with Robert De Niro took weeks to shoot just short film segments. There is a real beauty to the film. The Italian…

Raging Bull is a Classic American Film that will be enjoyed for decades. Prize Fighting is nothing like it once was. People followed the fighters. Here we have the true story of Jake La Motta. He is an explosive character and he is…

Boring film about a boorish brute who is just another paranoid, selfish, sexually stunted and violent man. Excruciatingly long.

Definitely a powerful biopic from Scorsese. De Niro deserved his Oscar, and Mr. S.'s directing should've earned one as well (and if we're gonna go there -- Pesci, too). LaMotta wasn't a man to be admired; he was a paranoid, abusive dink,…

Excellent work by director Scorsese and actor deNiro, who purposely put on over 50 pounds to portray the fighter after his retirement from the ring. The problem is: LaMotta as portrayed in this film is not a very likeable person. He beat…

Raging Bull is, by now, a well-established "classic" of modern filmmaking. Many feel it is Scorsese's best film and by all accounts should have beaten out Ordinary People for Best Picture and Best Director. No arguments there. Scorsese…

Just like a rock 'em - sock 'em robot.... In this knock-out, 2-fisted fight film, broken noses, spurting blood and cauliflower ears are initially all that is required to set the mood.... Raging Bull is an extraordinarily compelling…
