I enjoyed this book. It was nice to hear a perspective that acknowledged we can't do it all and that we need to accept that. Balancing being a working mom is difficult and this highlighted some of the areas we worry about the most but…

I had this as an audiobook and found it quite awful. The author presents herself as an expert with life experiences. Excuse me, but a thirty-something has not lived much to be an expert on anything. I found it a challenge to finish the…

WORST BOOK I have read this year. Talk about privileged. This book was hard to read, I didn't want to finish it. It hurts me to know someone might read this and take this author seriously and start feeling like s**t . She unapologetically…

ONE STAR. It's trite nonsense. There are a very few pearls of wisdom but in the main it is a mystery that this book is so popular. The author defaults to an undertone of preaching/cajoling that can only be unironically used if success has…

So much privilege in this book that she doesn't address. Couldn't even finish it.

I checked this out based on the quirky cover and snarky title expecting it to be a cheeky sarcastic self-improvement book for millennials. I was very wrong. I was not able to finish this book.

I enjoyed this book because of her personal anecdotes, it has entertainment value. I take her advice with a grain of salt because of her (relative) youth. I seriously wonder how her beliefs will transform as she approaches middle-age.…

Body shaming, judgement for other’s addictions while hypocritically dismissing her own (the attribution fallacy—others’ shortcomings are due to their character, but *mine* are due to circumstance) and a heaping dose of plagiarism make this…

I liked the book and found it interesting to read and somewhat helpful. I do agree with some of the comments that she writes from a place of privilege and wealth. Some of her chapters made me wonder if she is too focused on work, fame,…

This book was painfully bad. I could not even finish it. I had high expectations based on the popularity. Was glad I borrowed this book, rather than purchased.

This book was just "Okay" there are many other mindset books that are more empowering and transformational. Wasnt a bad read by any means, but wasn't as enlightening as the book has been portrayed as.

I had such a high expectation of this book and when I read it was exactly opposite of what she was saying, literally in every chapter she was bragging about how perfect her life is and what hard working perfectionist person she is. I…

Was really excited to read this, I have heard so many things about this book, and then I read the chapter about how she met her husband and had to throw this book across the room. Picked it up only to return it to the library. Best…

Ooooof. This was definitely not my cup of tea. Had such high hopes, seeing the positive reviews. May have been more palatable marketed as memoir than self-help? DNF at chapter 5, found it too shallow to wade into :(

Full of inspiration for every woman in every walk of life. Hollis has the tough and truthful voice of our consciences. Best read of the year!

While at times I could find her words motivating, more often than not I found this book to be written from a place of extreme privilege.

I understood her advice as "anyone can be rich and successful as long as you start from the bottom, work hard, get incredibly lucky and marry an executive".

Total best-seller hype! Tried to understand the reason this book even exists, it's filled with boring and far too boring personal stories about the author that can't possible be of any benefit except to publish a string of silly books…

Just finished reading this book. This book is a self help book mainly geared to women. However I found that most of the book can be applied to anyone, male or female. Mrs Hollis' writing is clear an concise. It comes directly from the…

Is it because I am 70 and discovered I really don’t care what people think of me, but this book didn’t resonate with me. What resonates with me now are Buddhist principles which are quite similar without the cutesiness of this book.
