Accompanied by the remaining members of the Eight, shape-shifting constantly to stay one step ahead of their pursuers, Mercy and Ryan embark on a global rescue mission which reaches its end at Paradise, Ryan's home town. Here Luc makes his ultimate demand - he will set Raphael free, if Mercy is handed over to him. Meanwhile Raphael, who has always loved Mercy, confesses his love to her, the extent to which he went to take her from Luc, and his responsibility for the disastrous consequences. And Azraeil, the angel of Death compels her to make an even greater decision if Luc is defeated. She must choose, not only between the two sides of the angelic conflict, but whether she wants to remain an angel at all.

This book actually took me so long to read that I pondered giving up on it halfway through. It was pretty intense but I just had to much stuff to do and books to read, and I didn't have enough time to finish it in less than a couple sittings. Overall, it was pretty dramatic. I wasn't very shocked with the ending though. It seemed too predictable and I feel like the author could have done more to make what would happen seem 100% impossible, then throw in the big boom. This series was a lot more entertaining for me in the first book though. Or its probably just me with my first-book expectations. Guess not all authors can hold the crowd for more than two books. 3/5 stars

I was really looking forward to this concluding book for the series, but I have to say I'm left disappointed. The action built to a decent crescendo, but then the ending went out with more of a whimper than the bang I was hoping for. Not completely unsatisfying, but could have been a lot better. I would still recommend reading it to those who want to know how it all turns out for Ryan and Mercy, but don't get your hopes up too much for how things come about.

This was the biggest disappointment in a series by mid book three. I think I recommended Mercy (first book) on my list and now I have to remove it. Seriously don't waste your time because if you start this thinking maybe it gets better, it doesn't.
