"When 29-year-old Lola is dumped by her fiancé Luke just three weeks before the wedding, she embarks on an emotional, year-long adventure of self-discovery filled with love, loss, hilarity and heartache. Guided (and often misguided) by the well-meaning advice of her close friends and eccentric parents, Lola's chaotic journey en route to the big 3-0 proves that a single tumultuous year can yield the lessons of a lifetime"--Container.

If this movie had never been made, the world be still be as good a place. Still, it was fun to watch. It's sort of a 29-year-old woman's coming of age movie and Greta Gerwig plays the role perfectly. Life has its ups and downs and we come out the other side better people. The other actors in the movie give great support most notably Zoe Lister-Jones who takes quirky to a whole new level. Debra Winger and Bill Pullman were also good. I wish they had more screen time. It seems when actors reach a certain age (45?), they are relegated to marginal roles despite their wealth of talent. This must end. This movie is also a love letter to NYC. It makes for a great backdrop to Lola's search for love and meaning in life.

I really liked this film. I thought the acting was great all around. Of course Gerwig was great, but I thought the whole cast was great (except perhaps Kinnaman). Pullman and Winger were fantastic. The story also resonated with me.

Can we have a moment of silence for STUPID MOVIE? Oh, my goodness, talk about go no where, do nothing, this has to be the dumbest empty head movie I have ever watched. I could kick myself for watching it to the end. What was the point? You watch a 29 year old female doctorate candidate (Lola) get dumped by her fiance. Okay, life happens. But it was painful to watch the way she handled it. Drinking, binging on junk food, crying, out burst,, therapy, drugs, sleeping around with friends, strangers and the ex fiance. Say what?!?!?! If this is the way late-twenty somethings handle their lives and the issues that come with it, no wonder they are getting high every chance they get. I would want to escape myself too. If you have nothing else to do or look at, don't settle for this dumb, stupid, empty, void film. It will make you want to run screaming from the room. Keep all sharp objects locked away, you will inevitably stab or cut yourself accidentally on purpose trying to escape

Really bad! Bad acting, plot, script! I have to admit I only watched about 15 minutes but I just couldn't take it - it was so bad.

Sort of a combination of a wilder version of "The Goodbye Girl" and a tamer version of "Looking for Mr. Goodbar", translated, music and all, from the 1970's to the 2010's. The screenplay is fresh, in the moment, artistic; dialogue, excellent; the story and characters, believable. Pretty good acting from the entire cast, despite a somewhat shaky performance from the actor playing Luke, the fiancé; Greta Gerwig's acting as protagonist Lola is superb. Not a fairy tale romance story. This is real life. As it happens -- warts, beauty, and everything -- on the screen. Recommended.

How to use sex, food, and drugs to cope with rejection,.. an anti-romantic 'comedy'. "We wanted to mess with the conventions" (of the Romcom format),.. the commentary said.

Greta Gerwig's quirky charm makes this an entertaining romcom.

One of the most Disappointing -Unwatchable films I’ve ever seen this year. No substance, No script, No storyline, No acting abilities, A Really Dumb Movie. "I fast forwarded all the way." It would be a waste of money to buy.
