I was very surprised, expecting to see a so-so follow-up to the last book, but this one in my honest opinion is thee very best book in the entire series! Now I can't wait to read the final book. :) ps: the protagonist in The Hunted is my hero, I was cheering for him until the end, and even had tears in my eyes lol.
This book was just as good as the first one. I never really had a favorite character in this series, but Malik.... I loved him so much after reading this one.
The Hunted, by Charles Higson is the dramatic concluding book in a suspenseful series. It ties up the loose ends and keeps readers thinking even after they have put the book down. Higson uses startlingly vivid imagery, which he mixes with relatable and realistic details that make the book all the more thrilling. The dark atmosphere of the novel suggests that the book is geared towards older readers, specifically teenagers who enjoy post-apocalyptic scenarios and a world without adult authority. However, the characters in this novel are all so much younger than the target audience that it can be hard to understand. Usually people read books about similarly aged people so that they can empathize and understand the character’s decisions. Perhaps it is to get across a deeper message, but the age of most of the characters in this book can be frustrating. Because the book is about children, teenagers may have a hard time understanding their decisions and thoughts, which makes the book a more tedious read. I found that it took a while to read, which can be good thing if you have a lot of time on your hands, but can also make it hard to get into. While I enjoyed the author’s writing style, I found it hard to keep reading a book about people so much younger than myself. If you have time on your hands and enjoy apocalyptic scenarios, similar to The Walking Dead or the Gone series, give this book a try.
The Hunted - The Enemy Series - Book 6 by Charlie Higson – another AWESOME book! If you love the television drama series ‘The Walking Dead,’ the Enemy Series is for you. The books in the series are: ‘The Enemy’ (2009), ‘The Dead’ (2010), ‘The Fear’ (2011), ‘The Sacrifice’ (2012), ‘The Fallen’ (2013), ‘The Hunted’ (2014), and then perhaps the final book in the series - ‘The End’ (2015). For a taste of what you will read in book one, Google < the-enemy.co.uk > and open ‘The Enemy/The Dead – Trailer – You Tube.’ Also see on You Tube - The Enemy by Charlie Higson – ZOMBIES.
Another fantastic teenage rated series to check out is the six Gone Series novels by Michael Grant starting with ‘Gone.’ Doctor-at-Bass! Taylor A.
