Meh. Mr. Crystal's attempt at playing a fictional mid-level comedian who peaked in the early 1960's, now, in present time, near the end of his career. Over the top and bordering on maudlin, the plot seems derivative of Neil Simon's "Brighton Beach Memoirs" and "Broadway Bound". Boyish-faced Crystal just isn't able to pull it off and make the character believable. To his credit, he gives it a go anyway, not holding back. Just doesn't work. There is a plus side. Crystal has some funny lines, and there's some good supporting acting. Not recommended.
