**spoiler alert** I've enjoyed the first three books in this series, but sorry to say, not this fourth one. I did not like the story the plot was based on, just didn't seem plausible to me, and am I the only one getting tired of the "Gunderson and his wife" soap opera relationship, please get it over with.
The biggest problem for me though, came on page 209 when the forensics report puts the time of Devon's death between ten and midnight on Sunday night. Now, that sure seems to be a major error, because the rest of the book has him alive and well on Monday until he went missing overnight and was found dead on Tuesday. As well, the forensics says he was struck with an object that was broad and round but at the end of the book we find out it was a fireplace poker, an object that is narrow and pointy, just the opposite. These are mistakes that should not happen at this caliber of writing and editing.

Psychological thriller featuring a former teacher on parole after a conviction for child predation. Then her accuser turns up dead. Close to home chills!

Super read. No clue who the murder was until told - almost the final page. Devastating story. Each chapter ends so that you must continue reading. Looking forward to the author's next book in this series.

Love this series. Well written and always fun when the reader can relate to places in the book!
Nice twist at the end!

Beautifully written, with clear voices for each of the characters - especially the principals. Can be read as a stand alone story, or the continuation of a series. The author has built from book to book so that I look forward to the next story.

Great read. Absorbing story that will make you think while you're enjoying a twisty murder mystery. There is a balance between the characters personal & professional lives that adds to the ongoing story lines from previous books. It's one of those series where each instalment is stronger than the last as if the author is really hitting her stride.
