I enjoyed this movie even though it is based on a truly terrible time in the past. This story although fictional is based on a truth that happened back then which is that they used Animals to help win the War.I wouldn't show this to kids who are below High School Age, and Before letting High School kids see it there would be some discussion beforehand.
I have only one other thing to say and that is "I liked the Hitler (Nazi)Hawk although in real life a one eyed hawk is an either sick or dead bird". The only Bird that I know of that has bad vision in real life was a falcon who belonged to the "Sarvey Wildlife Rehab Center" and He was used as a Teaching Animal. I saw Him many years ago and I don't know if He is still alive.

Valiant is a fun toon with lots of WW2 genuflection. Though promoted as a children's video much of the background, war metaphors, locations, and jargon would simply be lost on younger minds. Though there is nothing bad to speak of my little one did say, "Daddy what's torture?" This video, like the comedy of SHREK, is aimed at a more adult audience who will undoubtedly smile at the french mice, the WW1 seagull and the comedic portrayal of a hitler-esque hawk.
