Magnus Chase has always been a troubled kid. Since his mother's mysterious death, he's lived alone on the streets of Boston, surviving by his wits, keeping one step ahead of the police and the truant officers. One day, he is tracked down by a man he's never met-- a man his mother claimed was dangerous. The man tells him an impossible secret: Magnus is the son of a Norse god. The Viking myths are true. The gods of Asgard are preparing for war. Trolls, giants, and worse monsters are stirring for doomsday. To prevent Ragnarok, Magnus must search the Nine Worlds for a weapon that has been lost for thousands of years. When an attack by fire giants forces him to choose between his own safety and the lives of hundreds of innocents, Magnus makes a fatal decision.

Love this new series. Not only does the reader get to learn a lot of about Norse mythology, they are also entertained. Always love to read Rick's series.

Hahaha! I LOVE it. It is so Riordan's funniest book ever. Honestly it was pretty boring in the build up and the mid-beginning. I love how when they finally saw Fenris Wolf, and he was just a normal wolf and they were so surprised. I also loved Thor. I can't wait to read the Hammer of Thor.
I rate this book 20/20. I love you Magnus Chase and Gods of Asgard.

Hilarious, witty and clever, Rick Riordan delights us Percy Jackson fans with another series, now tackling the Norse gods. Right from the beginning of the book, Riordan dares to go where no other author has gone before, and starts this brand new series off with a surprising twist. Expectant for the next books!

Okay, I loved it. I have loved Rick Riordan's books for a long time now, but for a while I shrugged them off (after Blood of Olympus- that book left me disappointed). I was worried about falling for new characters amidst poor writing choices and so I left off reading on in the Riordan world. Until now.
I'm so happy with this book. It made me completely overlook (but not forgive) BoO and was like the breath of redemption I had been longing for. I love the characters, I love the writing, the storyline and the adventure. It's just amazing how Uncle Rick continues to amaze me and pull me into this world. It's masterful.
It's also strange. I got to a point in the book that was super intense and had to put the book down and just think about what I was reading. I realized at that moment that even though I was reading this dark, twisted scene with deceit and straight up murder, I almost hadn't been phased by it. That was the moment I knew I was trapped and had no hope of letting this series go.
Very exciting story, I feel like I know the direction this next book is going to take but I know I'm going to love it.

When I first Started reading it, It seemed kinda boring, but once I got past chapter five or so, I NEVER wanted to put it down and finished it in a day. ITS SO GOOD! EVERYONE SHOULD READ IT!
