When Paul Rogan sets off a bomb at his office, killing eleven people, no one can understand why. He was a loving husband and father, with everything to live for. Then his wife and daughter are found chained up in the family home, and everything becomes clear. Rogan had been given a horrifying choice - set off the bomb, or see his loved ones suffer and die. Lieutenant Eve Dallas knows the violence won't end here. The men behind the attack are determined, organised and utterly ruthless. In this shocking and challenging case, both Eve and husband Roarke are heading into serious danger.

As usual, awesome story line. I love the characters and hope she writes hundreds more!

Although it didn't lack for death and mayhem, it wasn't what I had expected. It dragged along and lacked 'something'. Wouldn't recommend it.

Another interesting and enjoyable Eve Dallas procedural, this time with a extraordinarily cruel set of perpetrators who rack up the body count solely in the name of greed. Dallas puts all her considerable home and work resources in play to solve the crime, just in the ni k of time to prevent another round of deaths.

This episode also wraps up the Nadine book-video storyline, for those who have been following it.

This is a very formulaic book, contains all the elements that made many of the previous tales good reading but absolutely no feeling or passion. Felt like it was written by a computer program. I think this character has run the course-even the sex scenes seem ho-hum. Go back to the first books, much-much better.

I picked this up last week at the Express Desk and after reading about 100 pages, I came to this site to see if there were any comments or feedback. There were none and yet people LOVE this series. So for the record, I read one more chapter after the "rat soup" exchange, which went on and on. I am returning the book, unfinished. This used to be one of the most innovative and exciting series on the market but now the books are just tedious. Nora Roberts, if you are reading this, stop writing these for a couple of years, get some fresh ideas, introduce some new characters, but please go back to "wowing" your audiences. And while I'm at it, the unending foul language is boring and ruins the novel. And enough with the Icove referrals (now that one was a terrific story).
