The player assumes the role of various characters during the single-player campaign, changing perspectives throughout the story. The playable characters are special forces operatives conducting black operations behind enemy lines. In this way, the player's characters have their own traits such as voices and shadows.[11] Each mission features a series of objectives that are displayed on the heads-up display, which marks the direction and distance towards and from such objectives. The player is accompanied by friendly troops throughout the game. Although primarily a first-person shooter, certain levels feature sequences where the player pilots a Hind helicopter and guides friendly troops from a SR-71 Blackbird reconnaissance aircraft.[19][20][21] The campaign features several scripted cinematic moments. One of them is a bullet time effect during the "Victor Charlie" level, activated when the player fires toward the last enemy of a Viet Cong squad.

Add a CommentCall of Duty: Black Ops is a 2010 first-person shooter video game. The game was developed by Treyarch, published by Activision, and released on November 9, 2010 for PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii. Announced on April 30, 2010, the game is the seventh installment of the Call of Duty series. It is also the first to be set in the Cold War and the fifth to be set in World War II. It is the third in the series to be developed by Treyarch.
Black ops beat Modern Warfare 2 by 2.3 million copies. A Japanese version was released by Capcom on November 18th, 2010 and a Japanese dubbed version was released on December 16th 2010. Black ops also exceeded 1 billion in sales just after six weeks.
Gameplay: Black ops is a first person shooter just like its predecessors. A player can take three stances: standing, crouching, prone. Standing allows you to sprint but, you will be vulnerable to attacks from the enemy. Crouching makes you slower but allows you to take cover better than when you are standing. Prone when executed successfully may give you an advantage when playing multiplayer but makes you slower than when your crouching
The Price: $29.99-$69.99
Audience: Mature 17+
Pros: Improved graphics and an amazing storyline.
Cons: Very repetitive
Conclusion: Black ops is the coolest Call of Duty ever made period. The characters, the setting and everything else makes it an amazing game. Zombies was just the cherry on top which made players go back to this title. It had its glitches but no one cared because of its amazing gameplay.
Definitely the BEST COD game available. This game not only includes addictive online multiplayer, but a wide variety of game modes (including Zombie survival mode). You also have unique features such as customizing your emblems, guns and kill/death streaks when you play online. As for the story mode, nothing to go crazy over, which is why I demote this game to 4-stars. Many of the COD games are overrated (especially the MW series), but this has to be the best one yet!
