'Santa Bruce' is my first "Bruce" book, but I loved loved loved 'We Don’t Eat Our Classmates' and my grands loved it more!

Bruce is a grumpy old bear pushed into being Santa by those around him. You can almost hear him sigh with resignation. The story is funny and sweet. Adults and children will be charmed by 'Santa Bruce'.

Bruce and the gang are back for more mistaken identities and holiday merriment. Poor Bruce ends up playing along once more, this time as a big jolly fellow in a red suite. Hibernation will have to wait until the next 'Bruce & Co.' installment.

Bruce does not like the holidays. For him winter means hibernation. His little family of mice and geese are very excited to celebrate Christmas and they want to share it with their community. Before he shoveled the snow outside, Bruce put on his red long underwear and was mistaken for Santa Claus by a little racoon. Soon the entire community was knocking at his door and they called him Santa. They stood in line to tell him what they wanted for Christmas and that they had been very good. Bruce’s little family wanted him to go all the way and deliver presents on Christmas eve. What do you think he did?

Author Ryan T. Higgins has created another hilarious read in his series of Bruce the bear. Beginner readers will chuckle while reading the simple sentences. Funny characters and plenty of recognizable holiday objects makes this story perfect for a read-a-loud. Parents, teachers and caregivers will enjoy sharing this for the holidays or anytime.
