"Paul Conroy is not ready to die. But when he wakes up six feet underground with no idea of who put him there or why, life for the truck driver and family man instantly becomes a hellish struggle for survival. Buried with only a cell phone and a lighter, his contact with the outside world and ability to piece together clues that could help him discover his location are maddeningly limited. Poor reception, a rapidly draining battery, and a dwindling oxygen supply become his worst enemies in a tightly confined race against time; fighting panic, despair and delirium, Paul has only ninety minutes to be rescued before his worst nightmare comes true."--Container.

Too much time spent on this watching a guy in a box supposedly underground. Boring!

Unrealistic and disappointing.

If you have claustrophobia, this is probably not the movie for you!

I enjoyed it. Ryan Reynolds does a great job keeping things interesting.

Gritty and nerve-racking.

Very surprised with this movie, other than the snake part in the movie, this was really good. Surprised Ryan Reynolds needed a flashlight to see in the dark, his pearly white teeth can be seen from outer space!!! Worth the watch.

Not bad for a movie with one on-screen character and no change in setting. Nice ending.

I really enjoyed this movie!!!!!! Now this is something that will scare you about being Buried Alive!!

What else to expect from a movie when everything happens inside a box and all the dialogue from phone conversations. Not my cup of tea at all though it got a lot of accolades:
Buried has received massive critical acclaim, with many critics stating Reynolds deserved a Oscar nomination. Review aggregate Rotten Tomatoes reports that 87% of critics have given the film a positive review based on 148 reviews, with an average score of 7.3/10. With the following consensus: "Wringing a seemingly impossible amount of gripping drama out of its claustrophobic premise, Buried is a nerve-wracking showcase for Ryan Reynolds's talent."

A very claustrophobic film. It has a tense realism, gritty in that everything happens as if it were in real-time (you know, the gimmick that the TV series 24 used). I was disappointed in BURIED; there was just no sense of catharsis. It wasn't bad, no, but I still wouldn't recommend it.

The battery lasted only for an hour and a half your watching the entire experience he has in the box. Superbly acted and very tense, depressing movie. I liked the ending and I never saw it coming. Ryan does a great job at keeping you involved in the story.

Definitely tense, but also very grim. May also have you shouting at the screen, as I did, "ANSWER THE DAMN PHONE!" May also have you wondering how the battery on the phone lasted so long, with all the videos made and sent and received.... And how he didn't run out of air, breathing the way he was and running that Zippo lighter for so much of the time. And also, where the heck did that snake come from? Still, pretty gripping and gruesome, if rather unbelievable. Confess I didn't see the ending coming.
