Good story and great artwork, but a bit depressing.

Gorgeous art, very grim storyline.

This book is mostly just a purely enjoyable ride, in which you spend 90% of the time shouting, "oh my god Logan just pop your claws and kill everyone already!!" It is bad-ass and awesomely violent. But the emotional backstory is suprisingly affecting too, and the fact that the "what happened to Wolverine to make him like this??" mystery is dragged out for so long actually works well and doesn't feel annoying -- it just makes the ultimate reveal more of an emotional gut-punch.
It's surprisingly hard to find a really good Wolverine story, considering how much potential there is in the character, but Millar has it down: blood-spurting, heads-rolling splash pages + a story that might make you cry a little bit.

Beautifully told story and one of my favorites. One of the best works of Mark Millar.

Like others have said; its a great read. I also don't like Wolverine much but he is great in this novel.

Wolverine is one of my favorite characters when he's done well, and one of the most 2 dimensional trite annoying characters when he's written poorly. In this he is written well.

It is worth reading. It was average until the middle, the middle made it worth reading. And yes the end is slightly hackneyed, but it is a believable ending. How Logan got to be what he is, albeit lifted almost directly from greek mythology, is compelling. Incredibly so.

At the onset of the story, the entire United States has been overtaken and divided amongst supervillains. Heroes have been wiped out of existence, with the few survivors hiding. Logan lives with his wife Maureen and young children on a plot of land in Sacramento. Logan needs money to pay rent to the landlords of the territory and accepts a job to travel east across the country to deliver a secret illegal package. Appeal factors: lots of action and excellent graphics.
