If you want to hear some of the best, critically-acclaimed, electronic dance music from the 1980's (with shades of post-punk, thrown in for good measure), then you need look no further than "Substance" from British pop-sensations, New Order.

In their heyday (the 1980s), New Order were, arguably, one of the most imitated and influential dance-music bands of that particular decade in the history of pop music.

Substance is a 2-disc set of 24 tunes, covering the years from 1981 to 1987 when New Order were at the absolute height of their song-writing potential. And, boy, could these dudes rock it right!

A number of these tunes are the 12", remix singles that were all the rage back then. 3 of my favorites are - Bizarre Love Triangle, Perfect Kiss and Blue Monday.
