I checked out all the dog training books that I could from the library and read or skimmed all of them. I would say this is the best of the bunch and would recommend to any puppy adopter.
Training in this book follows mostly positive reinforcement but you still have to say 'no' a lot, when puppy is misbehaving. You MUST put in the work to get your perfect puppy - and there is a ton of work with a new puppy. My husband and I took off 2 weeks each from work to do training and our puppy Lewis is now the super star of his Kindergarten class.

Great Book! I like the training style and such.

This is a very good book, but it is speceficly for training puppies, not dogs, so it is kinda basic training. I would also recommend Gwen Bailey's "Training Your Superdog" because that has more advanced training. Good photos in this book.
