Dated production, a 1960's style fairy tale version of history, with actors that act the full range of emotions from A to B. Also the worst French-Canadian accent ever heard on the screen.

I love this mini-series, so very much. The acting was really good. The writing deserves praise for having adapted such a huge novel for the screen, even for the small screen in ten part chunks. I re-watch this mini-series at least once a year. I highly recommend it, especially for people interested in Colorado history.

I watch this star-studded mini series every couple of years. I especially enjoy the footage of the Highlands Ranch mansion before there were any house built around it.
