a classic bad action movie. So much nostalgia.
The year: 2032. There's no crime, there's no swearing (Or you're fined.), cars drive themselves (Prophetic!), and all restaurants are Taco Bell. But what happens when a dangerous criminal named Simon Phoenix (Wesley Snipes) escapes from his cryo-prison? Well, it takes a 20th century cop to catch a 20th century criminal. Enter John Spartan, the Demolition Man (Sylvester Stallone). This movie is kinda stupid, but also really entertaining as a sci-fi action movie. Sandra Bullock is as shiny as a new penny. Weirdly, it has some parallels with "While You Were Sleeping." Nigel Hawthorne, Benjamin Bratt, Rob Schnedier (Who would also pair with Stallone in "Judge Dredd."), and Denis Leary co-star. Theme song by Sting!
The Demolition man was an amazing movie for its time, with its many predictions of the future, the overall concept of the movie and the overall meaning of the movie. Even today i would consider this is one of my favorite movies. While the acting at times can be a bit dull, it was still enjoyable to watch with the humor in the movie and the large amount of action. It’s a movie while vulgar at times can be enjoyed by almost any group of people, especially with all the hidden humor. Overall, this is a great film that everyone should watch at least once in there life. - @Kuhaica of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library
Some pretty funny lines and some interesting "future" predictions. Mostly ridiculous action though.
Not one of Stallone's better movies.
A futuristic sci-fi with cryogenic prisons, utopia society with an evil ruler. Nothing unusual but the dry dialogue mostly delivered by Sandra Bullock. Fun watch.
