Great read! I definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys history. This book provided a glimpse into a time period and a people that hasn't been highly publicized. Even though the story is somewhat grim, the author doesn't dwell on the hardships but keeps the story moving. It seems well researched, but does a preachy section that seemed completely unnecessary to the story.
This is an extrodinary book for those with African/Cherokee dissent and a fever for Family History Search. The story may be fictitious but it is based on excellent research of which the author shares at the end of the book. Highly recommend it for the above reasons...and for those who enjoy learning.
Couldn't get past the second chapter.
