"From the guys behind Talladega Nights and Step Brothers comes one of the most outrageous comedies of the year! Jeremy Piven (Entourage) leads an all-star comedy cast including Ed Helms (The Hangover), David Koechner (Get Smart) and Ving Rhames (I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry) in this hilarious look at the rowdy world of competitive car dealerships. Smooth-talking salesman Don Ready (Piven) and his crazy crew of closers have just one weekend to move over 200 cars and prove that when it comes to conning, conniving and all kinds of bad behavior, they've got the goods!"--Container.

One star rating. first part OK. The longer it went on the worse it got. Never did show technique on how they sold all the cars. Strong language.

Entertaining politically incorrect comedy with scatter shot laughs. Cast of mostly stand up comics do what they can with minimum plot.

This movie had its funny moments. Check out the movie Used Cars with Kurt Russell where the subject matter was done better.

It had moments but far and few between. just average / fair comedy. Very sexual.

This was a fairly average raunchy comedy. The problem was more in the delivery than the material. Piven just didn't have "the goods" comedically. There ARE some funny bits, but also some ho hum bits. Worth watching if you like the foul mouthed romp as I do, but utterly forgettable.

Fair - Goods, The: Live Hard and Sell Hard (2009) 89 min. Jeremy Piven leads a team of professional car salesman to a dealership about to file for bankruptcy. The film itself starts incredibly well; with funny dialogue and extreme situations that had me laughing but halfway through the picture, the film just falls to mediocrity. Gone are the laughs replaced by juvenile humour. It ran out of creative juices.
