"Locusts swarm. Rivers turn to blood. Fire rains from the sky. Are you prepared for The Reaping? Investigative scholar Katherine Winter (two-time Academy Award winner Hilary Swank) is a debunker of modern 'miracles,' bringing scientific light to superstition and fraud. But events in tiny Haven, Louisiana defy even her expertise. There, the 10 Biblical Plagues seem to be recurring. And the more she seeks answers, the more she questions her own beliefs. Katherine must uncover the truth, because the Plagues are counting down. And time is running out."--Container.

Add a CommentThis was a pretty good suspense/horror movie. Does the whole demonic child thing. The effects were pretty impressive. Has a nice little twist towards the end. Not a great movie, but you could do alot worse.
This movie was entertaining and interesting but not one of my favorite for this year. “Not too bad---good performance”. "I fast forwarded a lot but not all the way.”
The movie started out slow. Hilary Swank's acting was somewhat dull... bland. Locust scene was done very well.
This was really done well. I haven't seen too many all encompassing "biblical palgue" movies since the 70's and all that is "film noir" and become so much more intense and exacting. Not as intense as "insidious" but really good.
The Reaping has an interesting premise, as it is about biblical plagues. I just really can't get into Hillary Swank as I don't care for her or her acting. If you are a Swank fan, and a fan of supernatural type movies, you will probably enjoy this movie much more than I did.
