Drop the Worry Ball

How to Parent in the Age of Entitlement
Feb 19, 2018
A fabulous book for parents of kids from 0- 22. Using the analogy of sitting on the bench at the playground while our little ones play and learn the world, this book examines alternatives to our natural inclination to take over our children's experiences as they advance in years. If only we could let them learn and explore through non-catastrophic failures in the formative years, then they may suffer less anxiety and have more motivation in the adolescent and young adult years. Outlining a brief history of childhood and why childhood has become what it is, I found it immensely interesting. Full of case studies of parents who have unmanageable children, the book explains why it has happened and how they can and have fixed or failed at seeking improvements. Very relevant for today's issues.
