This is a pretty darn good mystery even if it was originally written on the back of napkins collected from Starbucks. If Harry Potter failed to impress upon you Rowling's prowess as a writer then perhaps this would do the trick. I mean how can you pass up a book where the hero, a decorated war vet, beats the murder suspect with his prosthetic leg? The answer is that you can't. The plot is smart, the characters are fantastic, the writing is sharp. Did I mention that I was impressed? Really, really well done.
