Since You’ve Been Gone is about a shy, teenage girl named, Emily, whose best friend, Sloane, had disappeared at the beginning of summer. Her best friend left her a list of tasks for her to complete. In order for Emily to find her best friend, she had to complete a list that Sloane had left for her and by the end. Each task on the list, took Emily on a new adventure where she learnt to take risks and become more care-free. During her summer without her best friend, Emily meets new friends who help her complete the list. I loved this books for so many reasons. The first reason is that Emily was a very relatable character. She relates to people who are shy and who never step out of their comfort zone. When she was scared and too shy to face her fears, the feelings she had were so relatable to many teens who are struggling to step out of their comfort zone. Another reason why I really enjoyed this book was because of how every adventure Emily went on was so interesting and very intriguing. While reading this book, I so interested in knowing how every task would end and how Emily ended up stepping out of her comfort zone and become more courageous. I couldn't put the book down, it was so intriguing. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes adventurous books with a little bit of romance.
