Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone did an excellent job of bringing to life the beloved novel. Like all movies, certain parts of the book had to be cut out; however, it held the same storyline and adventure. The actors and actresses were perfectly cast for the roles of each character, which easily transports the audience to Hogwarts! I very much recommend that you watch this movie! There is magic, adventure, friendship, and so much more! Furthermore, the mystery, shock, and awe, will keep you on the edge of your seat! This is a movie for people of all ages! 5/5 @PenelopeScriptor of the Hamilton Public Library's Teen Review Board Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone is the adaptation of the first of J.K. Rowling’s popular novels. The movie is about a boy, Harry Potter, who learns on his eleventh birthday that is the orphaned son of two powerful wizards and possesses unique magical powers of his own. He is brought to Hogwarts, an English boarding school for wizards. There, he meets several friends who will become is closet allies and help him discover the truth about his parents’ deaths, why he is a special wizard, and what secret is being kept from the students. This movie astounded me as a child and still makes me smile to this day. Chris Columbus did an amazing job directing the first movie. The only minor issue was the CGI quality but that’s what you get when watching a film from 2001. I’d highly rec ommend this to any age even though the target audience was for children. Rating – 5/5. @Average_Bookworm of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library
