The beginning of this book had a lot of promise. I greatly appreciated the fairy tale puns, especially the ones mixed with real-world references. It made the language very fun and made me laugh out loud quite a few times. But once Dorothea makes her wish that throws her while world into chaos, the story became a little hard to follow. It really jumped around and I felt like I didn't always know what was really going on. Rexi is an absolutely obnoxious character. And the "romance" portion of the story was just thrown at the reader instead of developing in any meaningful way that the reader could actually believe. Overall, the plot fell pretty flat because it just was not executed very well.
