I read "The Broken Road" and had to continue it in this sequel. This book was a little slow at times but interesting for the most part. I got a map of Route 66 and followed him along the journey.

Richard Paul Evans uses a unique concept with this character to really makes one think about things - what you value in life.
I can't wait for the next book which will complete Charles James (Gonzales) trek.
I'd recommend this book. It can be read as a stand-alone but I'd suggest getting the entire picture of the progress and read "The Broken Road" first before jumping into this book.
