First reaction: A dreadful motion picture. Terrible dialogue and, except for the great Amanda Peet, bad acting. Update: It's vastly better the 2nd time around. I could have done without the framing device at the bistro, but most of the middle works. Loved the Stravinsky Arioso over the opening credits and that music is such a presence throughout in the characters' lives. Scenes between Radha Mitchell and Chiwetel Ejiofor are very good, from an initial charming flirtation to her confession of a serious crime. Enjoyed Brooke Smith as the voice of common sense, and yes, the Josh Brolin trampoline scene is kind of a treat.
