Time for Christianity (and religion as a whole) to go the way of Hercules and Zeus. We have 150 years of research from multiple branches of science that prove humans evolved from an ape ancestor. To deny evolution is to deny Biology, Anthropology, Paleontology and Genetics. To deny evolution is to deny the encyclopedia definition of HUMAN BEING: "a culture-bearing primate classified in the genus Homo, especially the species H. sapiens." To deny evolution is to deny every science organization and post-secondary school in the world, as well as all the science magazines, science journals, natural history museums... Evolution is only still called a 'theory' because scientists use the word theory different from the regular use of the word. For example, the earth going around the sun is a theory (heliocentric theory); gravity is a theory; cells are a theory; germs are a theory. In science, things can be both fact and theory at the same time, as the National Academy of Sciences explains: http://www.nas.edu/evolution/TheoryOrFact.html There are hundreds of reasons why the Bible fails as a moral compass, fails as a science textbook, and fails as a history book. Because every time Bible authors make a claim about the natural world, they get the wrong answer. The Bible author believed in killing witches, killing homosexuals, dashing baby's heads on rocks (Psalm 137:9), owning and beating your slaves (Exodus 21), and so on and so forth. Despite religion's best effort to keep us in the dark ages, Science has dragged religion kicking and screaming into the 21st century. Richard Dawkins is an expert in evolutionary biology, but honestly he is not the best educator (in my opinion). If your goal is to learn to think logically and to believe true things, I'd recommend The Atheist Experience youtube channel (specifically the videos with Matt Dillahunty)
